44 Hrs.

About 30 min. earlier than usual today, Beth, Bar, Erin, Erin, M&M and I left for BTA. We had to meet earlier this morning since we would be taking buses to a different location in order to be trained by the Red Cross in disaster relief. Because of all of the devastation that occurs in Miami and Southeast Florida each year as a result of the hurricanes, City Year Miami thought that disaster relief would be a good opportunity for us to help out our community even more. The training ended up being pretty dull and lasted for over three hours, but we are now all on the call roster for this hurricane season to help in Miami and the Florida Keys.

After that, we were bused back to the office and learned a little bit about the schools we will be helping in. We were let out early-around 4:30.

When we got home, Beth and I went to the gym for 30 min., and now I am exhausted.

As for Hurricane Ike, it seems like it will miss us completely. Thank goodness!
